The Crew of the USS Athena Welcomes You to Our Website
Commanding Officer
In the cockpit of a big airplane!
On the bridge of the Queen Mary.
The USS Athena is an IFT chapter based in Anaheim, California. We are located in Southern California just 30 miles south of Los Angeles and central to Orange County. Her Commanding Officer is Admiral Mandy Ison.
Every year we adopt Endangered Species with the funds we raise during our yearly fundraisers, either selling our "junk" at swap meets, recycling cans and bottles, or raising funds at the IFT recruitment table. Be sure to visit our lovable and deserving adoptees. Though we help in only the smallest of ways, every little bit counts! Athena members participate in a variety of charity work and public service outside of what we do for the ship, including blood drives, AIDS walks, and more.
But, let's not leave out one very important factor. We love to have fun! The Athena is one of the most active IFT chapters in Southern California. We have away missions every month, sometimes on every weekend, sometimes twice on the same day! Crewmembers have the choice of participating in the events they can make the time for. My top officers make the time to attending virtually everything. Our Calendar and Current Events will have all the information you'll ever need to know on what mayhem we plan on committing throughout the year.
Events for 2006: The Activities of the USS Athena!
Once we've completed an away mission, you won't want to skip our Events Archive where our Captain has taken more than a few incriminating pictures. Never underestimate the power of Star Trek fans to be both funny yet incredily geeky! And proud of it.
The Athena crew are also prolific writers of fiction. In fact, you will find an extensive collection of stories and comedies in our Athena Fiction. If someone isn't in trouble and having a little "too" much fun, the rest of us are scrambling to survive our encounters with hostile aliens.
If you've decided that you can't live without us, and we would certainly enjoy welcoming a fellow Star Trek fan, hurry on over to the Athena Yahoo Group to join in the lively discussions we are often caught up within. You may want to test your hull plating and proceed at your own risk. But if you're ready to take the plunge, why not go all the way? Join IFT and you can be an Athena member today! We accept all forms of life. Don't laugh. You will be very surprised how much life "out there" can seem to resemble your crewmates. Once again, welcome to the Athena website!
Are you a Star Trek fan who has children you are converting into little Trekkies? Or are you under 18 years old, but are dying to join the Athena? Look no further! The Athena has a Cadet Corp that's has more than enough room for as many young Trekkies and Trekkers who would like to join. Don't be shy!
