Below you will find crew biographies for the USS Athena.  Some of my crew prefer not to be online therefore not all Athena crewmembers will be featured here.  We're a lively bunch, so be forewarned.  Enjoy!

Hello and welcome to the Athena website! I am its creator and webmaster.  My story starts long before I founded the Athena with a ship called the USS Ulysses.  I, and two other IFT members, founded the Ulysses, in June 2000.

I began as a Lt. Commander and Chief of Operations aboard that ship, and attained the rank of Captain in my role as both Executive Officer and Chief of Operations. In August 2003, I was promoted to Captain by our President, Russ Haslage, for my work in organizing the 2003 GEO 5 Conference. Recently, I was promoted to Admiral for my active role at IFT HQ for the past 2 years.

In November 2003, I began dreaming about having my own ship and created the USS Athena logo in the next few months, which is the one you see today on our website.  After a year of preparation, the majority of it to give my former CO, Juanita Gamble, time to take over my duties aboard the Ulysses, the USS Athena was launched in January 2005.  Other than the CO of the Athena, I am also Editor of IFT's Newsleter "Voyages Comm Channels," an IFT webmaster, and run the IFT Webring.  In addition, I am IFT's Chief of Operations and Vice President of the organization.

I grew up with Star Trek.  My father loved The Original Series and watched it religiously. For the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation, I doubted any "sequel" could match The Original Series. I couldn't have been more mistaken. Years later, during my stay in Australia, I discovered that the local video store had all 7 seasons of Star Trek: DS9 on tape, which is a common thing "Down Under." I now consider it one of the best Star Trek shows ever. Of all the Star Trek movies, my favorites are "The Wrath of Khan," "The Search for Spock," and "First Contact." I am not one of those Star Trek fans who likes all things Star Trek simply because it has the right label!

Currently, I work at an online automotive website company as a Search Engine Analyst.   I have a Bachelors in English from the University of California Irvine.  I love to read, write, travel, take pictures, and play with computers. I especially love to create websites!

One of my hobbies is diving and snorkeling, and I have done both in some of the most beautiful regions in the world, including the Great Barrier Reef and along the coast of eastern Australia, Palancar and Chankanaab and Columbia Shallows of Cozumel, Mexico, the underground caves and cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Big Island reefs of Hawaii, the very cold waters of New Zealand, and the reefs and sea caves of Fiji. Yes, those caves were challenging, especially as I´m clausterphobic!

Well, that about sums it up.  Again, welcome to the Athena website!
